At 94 years old, Mrs. Pearl, a resident of Estrada, Matina in the province of Limón, has managed to maintain a sense of humor despite her difficult health condition , suffering from cataracts in her eyes, constant pain on both knees, high blood pressure and hypertension, she still manages to share with her son and her 10 grandchildren who take care of her. They contribute what they can to their home but receive a supplementary pension from La Caja Costarricense del Seguro Social. Despite living day to day with multiple symptoms such as pain in her hands when holding things, hearing loss and sore throat, she has managed to get ahead and is an example for many. She has been a woman of faith and knew that God would not forget her. When she received the wheelchair, she was giving thanks to Him.
